She was a truly special person. The more you got to know Row, the more you appreciated her considerable talents. I had the privilege of working on the Shaldon festival committee, of which he was a highly effective chair. Her  musical knowledge, and her judgement and wisdom were key ingredients in the continued success of the festival during her time in office. She was not afraid to make difficult decisions, having listened carefully to various points of view. Conversations with Ro were a source of real pleasure across a wide range of topics including, of course, music and golf. The community of Shaldon was greatly enriched by her active citizenship and we will all miss her very much.  
Annie and I were particularly grateful for her kindness at the very difficult time of our daughter Helen’s death. There could not have been a more kindly and understanding listener.
